Paul Holland Dip T, BEdSt, MEdSt, FAIM, MACE, MAICD Paul Holland is Managing Director and Principal Consultant of Creativity Well, a new company established to provide services to the creative industries, particularly in the areas of management and business development, to assist business and government in the adoption of eLearning strategies, and to support creative and innovative practices across all sectors. Until recently he was Chief Executive Officer of QANTM, one of Australia's leading new media companies. QANTM delivers programs at degree, diploma and certificate level in games development, multimedia, graphic design, animation and ebusiness. It is also a developer of interactive digital content, specialising in eLearning and internet-based games. Paul has extensive experience in both new media development and education in the private and public sector. He has worked as a company director and executive manager, interactive media designer, software developer, consultant, lecturer and teacher. Prior to joining QANTM, Paul was general manager and executive producer for ICE Media (formerly ICE T Multimedia) in Brisbane. From its establishment in 1994 ICE Media grew to become one of Australia's most highly regarded multimedia companies. Paul also worked in education for twenty years as a teacher, tertiary educator, manager and educational media developer. Paul was a pioneer in the use of software in education in Australia and established and managed the Queensland Department of Education's software development unit in 1985. Paul was also a member of a number of peak professional and government bodies involved in multimedia use in education. He sat on the executive of the Australian Council for Computers in Education for five years and was the National President from 1993-1995. He was also the President of the Computer Education Group of Queensland, transforming it into the Queensland Society for IT in Education (QSITE) in 1991. He maintains his professional involvement in both these organisations. While with the Department of Education, Paul was a member of the multimedia advisory committees of the national Curriculum Corporation and the Open Learning Technology Corporation (now education.au). He has lectured in interactive multimedia development at a tertiary level and has spoken at numerous national and international conferences. In 1994 he was invited to participate in an educational technology Inward Trade Mission to England as the Australian education representative by the British government and, as a developer and educator, has travelled throughout the USA, Europe and Asia investigating the use of interactive technologies in training and education. Paul is a member of the Advisory Committee to the Faculty of Creative Industries at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and recently participated as an industry consultant in the development of the Australasian CRC for Interaction Design. He has held a number of company directorships. Paul is currently undertaking doctoral studies (Doctor of Creative Industries) at QUT. He holds masters and bachelors degrees in education, a diploma of teaching and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, and Member of both the Australian College of Educators and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Having spent the past twenty years involved in the business of interactive media development, management and consultation for the corporate, government and educational sectors, Paul is one of Australia's most experienced new media industry professionals.
